Oak Leaf
Oak Leaf explores a liminal moment in the natural life cycle: an autumn leaf at its final stage, no longer growing yet still mature, beautiful, and visually compelling. Through hand embroidery on felt, I transform this transient botanical form into a lasting wearable object. Cannetille, bright-check purl, beads, bugles, zirconia, and faceted beads build its structure and surface. Positioned between ornament and textile object, the work reflects on transformation as a threshold between vitality and disappearance.
